Annabel Ridley lives and works in her London Studio in Richmond upon Thames. Much of her time is spent travelling the world painting fresh, brightly coloured oils and sensitive watercolour scenes of the local life. She studied art at the Sir John Cass Department of Art, Chelsea College of Art & Design, Richmond Adult College and South Thames College. She is a Member of the Chelsea Art Society, an Associate Member of the National Society of Paintings, Sculptures and Printmakers and an Associate Member of The Armed Forces Art Society. Among her many commissions has been a 17' x 12' mural for Rio Bec Dreams Hotel, Mexico in 2002. She has exhibited in Washington DC, in Yemen for The British Council, Wisconsin USA, Muscat Oman, The Mall Galleries, Sothebys, Kufa Gallery London, The Gallery in Cork Street, Art For Youth and The Affordable Art Fair.
Annabel is also a Glass Engraver. She started engraving 27 years ago when that precise art was re-introduced in this country by Lawrence Whistler. She is a Craft Member of The Guild of Glass Engravers and executes many detailed engravings on glass for her clients, among whom are The BBC, The Royal Geographical Society, The RICS, The Law Society and Winchester College. She is equally happy engraving the most intricate design on glass as well as calligraphy and dates to commemorate a special occasion.
